3D Furniture Design & Visualisation for Joinery Workshops

SolidWorks/SWOOD 3D modelling and an accurate visual preview of your furniture as it will actually be manufactured — approved before a single component is cut.

CONFIRM  BEFORE  YOU  CUT

Design It First. Build It Right.

Cam Woodwork Ltd provides 3D furniture design services using SolidWorks and SWOOD, based in Newbury, Berkshire. The service covers parametric 3D modelling, an accurate 3D visual preview of the piece as it will be manufactured, cutting list generation, and CNC-ready/file-optimised production output for joinery workshops and trade contractors across the UK.

Furniture is modelled to your exact dimensions in SolidWorks/SWOOD, giving you a true-to-spec 3D preview of the finished piece — correct materials, construction, and proportions — for client sign-off before any material is cut. The result is a confirmed design, a full cutting list, and CNC-ready file dimensions, all before manufacture begins. Fewer surprises on site, faster installation.

THE TOOLS WE USE

SolidWorks & SWOOD Design

AutoCAD for 2D Work

SolidWorks is the 3D CAD platform. SWOOD is the SolidWorks add-in built for furniture and joinery design — panel-based construction, hardware libraries, and cutting list generation natively. Together they produce parametric models that output directly to CNC production without manual re-entry of dimensions.

Where 3D modelling isn't required, 2D technical drawings and joinery design drawings are produced in AutoCAD — elevation drawings, floor plans, and component details for planning submissions or contractor handover packs.

WHO  THIS  SERVES

Who Uses This Service

Used by joinery workshops, shopfitters, and interior contractors who need to confirm designs before manufacture — and by smaller workshops and individuals with design projects beyond their in-house CAD capability.

Joinery workshops

use it to win jobs and avoid costly on-site changes — a client who has signed off an accurate 3D preview doesn’t change their mind after manufacture

Shopfitters and interior contractors

use it for client sign-off, planning submissions, and coordination with other trades

Trade clients with SWOOD

can receive the design file directly for their own SWOOD CAM toolpath generation

Workshops and individuals without in-house CAM

can have us take the design through to a file-optimised, ready-to-run Alphacam toolpath

PREVIEW  VS.  REALITY

See It in Practice

A full built-in study suite designed in SolidWorks/SWOOD for a Newbury client — walnut veneer panels, marine blue front framing, integrated LED lighting. Design previewed and approved before any material was ordered, with no amendments needed.
